The Rapuzzi family can be credited with rescuing Schioppettino (aka Ribolla Nera) from the brink of extinction, breathing new life into the Cru “Cialla”, as well as making Natural Wine decades before it became a conversation topic. This wine, made of Friulano, comes from the Lonzano Vineyard, a 46 year-old plot located in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio - Friuli. The grapes are macerated for one day at minimum, fermented in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures, and natural settling without addition of clarifying agents. Aged on the lees for 3 months with weekly battonage. This is a pale, straw-colored wine with greenish hues. The nose is rich and persistent with elegant aromas of ripe apple, pear and white floral notes. The palate is round, soft and elegant with fruity flavors, well-balanced acidity and a long, persistent finish. An excellent accompaniment to fish, crustaceans, pasta with vegetables or egg based dishes.
