Domaine Antonin Guyon is one of the most prestigious estates in the Cote d’Or, as well as one of the largest family-owned wineries in the region. Started in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon with parcels of land in Gevrey and Meursault, the domaine is controlled and operated today by Antonin's sons, Dominique and Michel. The 47 hectare property now produces wines of impeccable quality from 15 different appellations, including some of the most renowned villages of the region. Les Cras is a Premier Cru climat within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation in Burgundy. At harvest, fruit is loaded into small stackable boxes so it remains intact until it reaches the winery. Bunches are inspected on the sorting tables for rot, fungus and ripeness levels. In the winery, the Pinot Noir is destemmed, and then undergoes a cold maceration before being vinified in open wood vats with twice-daily punchdowns. After a light racking, the wines are matured in oak barrels for 18 months, with a mix of new and used oak. The wine is elegant, with bright red raspberry and cherry fruits and sweet floral notes. It is an attractive, upfront red with modest length. Pair with duck, goose, or game birds.
