Domaine Antonin Guyon is one of the most prestigious estates in the Cote d’Or, as well as one of the largest family-owned wineries in the region. Started in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon with parcels of land in Gevrey and Meursault, the domaine is controlled and operated today by Antonins sons, Dominique and Michel. This huge 47 hectare property now produces wines of impeccable quality from 15 different appellations, including some of the most renowned villages of the region. The Dominique Guyon Hautes Cotes de Nuits vineyards are located on south facing slopes in Meuilley, in the hills above Nuits-Saint- George. The soils here are limestone and rock with some clay. The Pinot Noir is hand-harvested and then carried in small boxes to the cellars, where they are sorted. Fermentation takes places for 10 days in open wooden vats, at a controlled temperature, with punching down. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. This wine is full of fresh fruit aromas - bright strawberries and cherries, with some richer, more lush notes of fig and a spicy peppery quality that balances out the ripe fruit. Elegant, delicious, and well crafted, with a creamy texture.
