While the Rosso family have been grape-growers in Barolo since the 1890s, the current incarnation of the Giovanni Rosso winery dates to 1995 in the comune of Serralunga d’Alba after extensive replanting of vines throughout the 1980s, primarily in limestone-rich vineyard sites scattered around Serralunga. The current proprietor is Giovanni’s son Davide, who took over vineyard management from his father in 2001. He has emphasized wild yeast, free-rise fermentation, and the use of concrete fermenting vessels as central components of the estate’s winemaking practices.

Vibrant purple with garnet highlights. Redolent with blue and purple fruit, supple acidity plus a silken body makes this an incredibly easy-drinking table wine. “Juicy” is an apt descriptor. Drink now.
