Established in 1776, Boekenhoutskloof is tucked into the furthest corner of the Franschhoek Valley in the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. The farm’s name translates to “ravine of the Boekenhout”, a reference to a species of Cape Beech which is prized for local furniture making. Marc Kent, the current winemaker, brings us a blend of three French grapes: Syrah, Mourvedre and Viognier, all of which contribute unique characteristics to this delicious wine. On the nose, it brings luscious aromas of violets and black pepper, while on the palate it offers a melange of dark stone fruits and licorice. Subtle oak and soft tannins.
