Lanciola is located just a few kilometers outside Florence in the rolling hills of Impruneta in the Colli Fiorentini region. Immersed in the tuscan countryside the estate totals around 80 hectares, half of it vineyards, and half planted with olives. In Medicean times the estate belonged to the noble Ricci family, who also produced wine in their day. Lanciola produces wines in the Colli Fiorentini, and Greve in the Chianti Classico zone. In Greve, in the heart of the Chianti Classico area the Azienda Agricola Lanciola estate is based on about 14 hectares, 10 of which are devoted to specialized vineyards with optimum south-west exposure, on favorable soil and at an altitude of approximately 300 meters. 95% Sangiovese, 5% complementary varietals. Fermented in stainless steel, then a short aging period in 2nd year oak "barriques" and 12 months in 25 Hectoliters large barrels. 6 month minimum bottle aging. Full and lightly sweet. Fruity, with evident hints of vanilla combined with spicy flavors. Well structured, soft at first but it shows a full concentrated taste with a great level of acidity, persistent fruity flavors and long finish.
