Brack Mountian’s wine making facilities are located in the Russian River Valley, in Sonoma County, CA. It is here that winemaker Daniel Fitzgerald and his small but highly skilled team fulfill the company’s mission of making artisanal, hand-crafted wines that are accessible at every price point. Launched in 2008, Brack Mountain is a family-owned winery that works with small growers around California who are as committed to sustainability as they are. With more than 15 brand releases since their inception, Brack sources fruit from Sonoma County, Napa Valley, Anderson Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands, and other cool coastal regions. To create wines with a sense of provenance, low alcohol, and bright acidity, the winemaking team practices low intervention techniques like native yeast fermentation (both primary and malolactic), with no crushing, pumping, fining, or filtering. This Cabernet Sauvignon is exclusively sourced from Totem Ridge Vineyard located in Southern Knights Valley, high up on the Mayacama Range. The grapes are grown on 7 separate blocks in different exposure and elevations to develop a full range of flavors. After 21 days of skin contact, the wine was aged for 16 months in 100% French oak barrels, 45% new. It exudes a deep purple color - with a nose rich in blackberry reduction, toasted pumpkin seed, and a touch of vanilla spice. The palate is elegantly wound with dusty tannin and a supple, silky texture. A long, seamless finish is complemented with flavors of black plum, cocoa and forest loam.
