Starting with the first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe Winery founders Julie and Ben Wolff, and David and Angelica O’Reilly shared the common goal of producing beautiful wines from superior sites in the Pacific Northwest, specifically the Willamette Valley in Oregon and the Yakima Valley in Washington State. With no estate vineyards to harvest, Owen Roe sources their fruit from 12 different vineyards, split evenly across Oregon and Washington. Abbot’s Table honors the most fundamental form of hospitality through the ages -the meal. The Abbot’s Table traditionally provides an opportunity for fellowship with guests over food and wine. This wine, with its unique varietal diversity, is rich in red fruit notes, with balanced flavors and acidity, exuding charm and texture. It pairs beautifully with many flavors and feasts. 40% Zinfandel, 26% Sangiovese, 23% Blaufrankish, 11% Malbec from the Red Willow, Union Gap, DuBrul, Outlook and Gunkel Vineyards. Black currants, blueberry and cherry. A layer of white pepper spice and tobacco are interlaced with gripping acidity, roasted red pepper and earth notes. This bright red blend is youthful and shows great cellaring potential.
